Privacy policy
This policy covers the outlineGo Android app and this website. Sketches stay on your device unless you export them. Google Play handles purchases. Optional error reporting is separate from accepting the terms. Data controller and contact details.
Sketches and local app data
Sketches, point coordinates, dimensions, notes, measurement history and settings are stored locally on your device. No outlineGo account or cloud synchronisation is provided. The app does not upload sketches to a developer-operated server or include them in error reports.
Local settings include the app language and theme, length unit, step-length conversion, direction mode, angle snapping and sketch-preview preferences. Unfinished measurement entries can be saved locally so you can resume work. Sketch notes are saved automatically as you edit them. The Android build disables the platform's app-data backup through its backup configuration; outlineGo does not provide its own backup or device-transfer service.
Local technical measurement-session records can contain sensor readings, steps, measurement inputs and operations, timestamps, sketch identifiers or names, and device model and Android version. They are kept in the app's private files, separately from the sketch database, and are not sent to Sentry. The current app has no screen for browsing, exporting or deleting those technical logs. Deleting an individual sketch does not delete these separate session records.
When you accept the terms and acknowledge measurement limitations, the app stores the accepted content version and acceptance date and time locally. It also stores your error-reporting preference and whether you have answered the reporting prompt. Accepting the terms does not enable diagnostics.
Permissions and exports
The camera provides a viewfinder for setting directions. outlineGo does not capture or upload camera photos or video. Motion and orientation sensors support directions and step estimates. Camera and physical activity permissions are requested through Android when needed. Manage them in Android settings; denial can limit the corresponding feature. Manual entry remains available. Sketch coordinates describe the local outline; the app does not obtain GPS location for measurements.
PNG and, with Plus, DXF exports use Android sharing. They can include sketch names, dimensions and notes. Check the file before sharing. The recipient or app you select handles it under its own privacy practices. Exported copies remain separate from the local project and outside outlineGo's control.
The app prepares PNG and DXF files in its local cache before opening Android's share sheet. These files can remain in the cache until it is cleared by Android or through app-data controls; they are not automatically uploaded by outlineGo. The app does not request microphone, GPS-location or broad shared-storage permissions for these features. Opening a legal-document link uses an external website and involves that website's connection-data processing.
Google Play purchases
Google Play processes Plus purchases under its terms and privacy policy. outlineGo receives purchase information, including product and purchase status, a purchase token and signature-verification information, to verify and store the entitlement locally. It can query Google Play to restore Plus. The app does not send purchase records to a developer-operated verification server, and Sentry reports exclude purchase tokens. We do not receive payment card details through the app.
A verified Google Play purchase record and its signature are stored in the app's private preferences to recognise Plus after restart and offline. The app contacts Google Play to load product information, check purchases, acknowledge a completed purchase and restore entitlement. It also refreshes purchase status when returning to the foreground. This is separate from optional Sentry reporting.
Optional error reporting
You can choose to send JavaScript error reports to Sentry to help us diagnose app problems. Reporting is off by default. Enable it by saving the preference in settings or explicitly accepting the prompt after a handled app error. That prompt covers the current error and future reports. Nothing is sent to Sentry before the choice is saved.
Declining or dismissing the prompt keeps reporting off. Your decision is remembered to avoid repeated prompts. You can change it in settings. You do not have to enable reporting to use Free or Plus.
Reports contain the error category, positions in the app's JavaScript code, app version and build, Android version, event identifier and timestamp, and technical information for grouping errors and locating the matching code map. Original error messages, arbitrary file paths and function names are removed before sending.
Reports do not include sketch names or content, measurements, notes, camera images, local measurement logs, purchase tokens or persistent user or device identifiers. This integration does not record sessions, screenshots, screen recordings or activity history and does not include native Android crashes. It is not used for advertising or behavioural analytics.
Sentry, operated by Functional Software, Inc., processes reports on our behalf under a Data Processing Addendum signed on 30 October 2026. The addendum sets out processing responsibilities, security measures, subprocessors and safeguards for applicable international transfers. The app is configured to use Sentry's EU ingestion endpoint. This does not mean all service processing is exclusively in the EU: account and organisation metadata and service operations may involve other countries, including the United States. See Sentry's privacy information and data processing addendum.
Where consent is required, including under the GDPR, the basis for this optional reporting is your consent. Disable reporting and save settings to withdraw it. This blocks future reports and pending reports in the app's reporting transport and attempts to cancel requests in progress. A request already received by Sentry cannot be recalled by the switch. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. The app does not keep an on-disk queue to send old reports after restart.
The app does not add your IP address to the report. In Sentry, we have also enabled server-side filtering of sensitive data and prevention of IP-address storage in new events. These safeguards supplement filtering before reports leave the app. Sentry still receives the connection's IP address to deliver the service; blocking its storage in events does not rule out connection-data processing or derived geographic information. The settings apply to new reports and do not erase previously stored data.
This website and support
This static website does not include analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or embedded third-party fonts. It does not set application cookies. Firebase Hosting, operated by Google, processes connection information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. Google's Firebase privacy information describes Hosting IP retention as a few months.
If you email us, we process your address, message and attachments to answer the request, investigate a complaint or meet related legal obligations. Avoid sending sensitive information or sketches containing personal data unless necessary. Where the GDPR applies, the basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries, performance of a contract where relevant, or a legal obligation. Hosting is based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, accessible website.
Recipients and international processing
Information is handled by the providers needed for the purpose concerned: Google for Play purchases and website hosting, Sentry for reports you choose to send, email providers for support correspondence, and recipients you select when sharing exports. Google also processes information for its own purposes under its applicable policies. Information may be disclosed to competent authorities when legally required. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where required for transfers from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, applicable processing agreements and a lawful transfer mechanism, such as standard contractual clauses or an applicable adequacy decision, must cover the transfer. Google describes safeguards in the Firebase processing terms; Sentry describes its arrangements in its data processing addendum. Contact us for information about safeguards applicable to data we control.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a sketch through the app removes its database project, observations, operation history and unfinished measurement entry. Separate local technical session logs and cached export files are not removed by that action. There is no automatic age-based deletion of session logs; recording stops at its local storage limit. To remove all private app data, including settings, acceptance information, cached purchase records and technical logs, use Android's app-data controls or uninstall the app. Clearing the cache alone does not delete the sketch database or technical session logs. Removing the app or clearing its data can remove all local sketches. Exported copies must be managed at their destination. PNG and DXF exports are not restorable backups of editable projects.
Google controls retention of its purchase records under its policies. Support correspondence is kept while needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations or handle related claims, then deleted. Error reports are kept in Sentry under the retention and deletion rules of the service plan in use. We use them to investigate and resolve app problems and remove reports no longer needed for that purpose using the deletion functions available in the service. Deletion from provider backups follows the provider's applicable procedures. Website connection-data retention is described in the website section.
Your choices and rights
You can manage Android permissions, delete local data, choose what to export and enable or withdraw error-reporting consent. There is no outlineGo account to delete. We cannot retrieve or remotely delete sketches held only on your device.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of personal data we hold, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent. Contact us using the details below. We may need proportionate information to verify and locate your request. Reports have no outlineGo account identifier, so locating a particular report may require additional information and may not always be possible. You may complain to your local supervisory authority or Poland's President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Exercising applicable privacy rights does not remove purchased app features.
Changes
Revisions will be dated, with additional notice where required. Material new processing will be explained before it starts, with separate consent where required. Changes to legal documents do not automatically enable diagnostics.
